Wendy Cartwright, President & Co-Chair
wendy@wearewoman.us
Wendy Cartwright is one of the founders and President & Co-Chair of We Are Woman. We Are Woman was formed in 2012 as a response to the “War on Women”. WAW organized a rally in 2012 and 2014 at the Capitol in support of women’s rights and voting rights. We Are Woman’s mission is ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, working with other coalitions in support of women’s issues such as equal pay, domestic abuse, abortion rights and educating citizens on the importance of voting. Women are not a special interest group and voting is a right. Wendy has gained her inspiration from women like Rosa Parks and Hillary Clinton. She believes strongly that no one should be afraid to stand up for his or her rights and beliefs. It is our responsibility to win this war on women and voting for those who came before us, and the next generation.
Alaina LaTourette, Vice President & Co-Chair
alaina@wearewoman.us
Alaina LaTourette believes the inherent dignity and equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world. When the law denies people basic human rights, voting rights, restricts reproductive rights and fails to protect us and our families, there is no justice; we are all oppressed. She has spent much of her lifetime fighting for the freedom to live without fear, equal access to opportunity and the right to decide what happens with and to our bodies gives us control over our lives and makes us EMPOWERED.
